Woman aged 46. Mass in the left breast with ill-defined margins. Mastectomy after frozen section diagnosis.

Gross Findings

Firm area of 3 cm in the upper outer quadrant. The images are from this area.

Diagnosis: Invasive Lobular Carcinoma of the Breast. (Classical type). Note the formation of calcifications-not a usual finding in this particular type of carcinoma- and the distribution of the lymphoid infiltrate that can cause confusion compared to tumor cells.
